ESSE: Norwegian agri-foodtech from ambition to growth

  • Vilde Wettergreen
  • 24/01/2025

Food production accounts for 25–30 % % of global greenhouse gas emissions, while the world faces a massive challenge: the need to produce 50–60% % more food by 2050.

With a rapidly growing global population (we will need to feed an additional 1.5 billion people in 2050) and an increasingly degraded soil quality, it is critical to find new and sustainable ways to produce food.

Through proprietary technology and innovative solutions, Norway can contribute to meeting the global demand for food while reducing our carbon footprint and safeguarding Earth's resources.

ESSE – a growth program tailored for ambitious agri-foodtech and environmental technology companies

Aggrator has established the ESSE growth program, a program designed to take Norwegian agri-foodtech and environmental technology companies from aspiration to growth.

ESSE consists of 10 independent masterclasses, tailored for companies that want to grow and contribute to a more sustainable future.

The program combines knowledge, networking, and practical tools to strengthen the position of Norwegian companies both nationally and internationally.

Each masterclass is led by experts from business and industry, providing participants with valuable insights and experiences that can be used to navigate the challenges and opportunities in agri-foodtech. The experts come from, among others, EY, Dehns, NxTech, BI og eSmart Systems.

Norway already has strong prerequisites to take a leading role in agri-foodtech, with Campus Ås (Norwegian University of Life Sciences, NOFIMA, Veterinary Institute) as a central hub for research and innovation in the field.

Through the ESSE program, we are building the business expertise that companies need to succeed in the global market and help solve some of the biggest challenges we face today.
