Keen Robotics develops cable-borne robotic technology for the future of fruit cultivation

Keen Robotics is a new start-up company established by the entrepreneurs and couple Sebastian Bergt and Miria von Rotberg. The company develops a new type of agricultural robot based on cable-borne technology, where the robots operate as «drones in cables» over the cultivation areas.

The technology is specifically aimed at fruit producers and vineyards and is designed to perform tasks such as spraying, harvesting, and monitoring crops. The goal is to reduce the need for manual labor, increase efficiency, and contribute to a safer working environment by limiting exposure to pesticides and other risky work operations.

Sebastian and Miria combine deep technological expertise with experience in product development and commercialization. Both have backgrounds in autonomous systems and robotics, and throughout their careers have worked with some of Europe’s most advanced technology environments.

Keen Robotics is now in a phase where they are developing an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) that will be tested with apple producers. The experience from the testing will form the basis for further development of the technology and the road to market.

The company has received start-up funding from Innovation Norway, which is used, among other things, for market and customer insights to ensure that the solution meets real needs in the industry.

Miria von Rotberg She holds a master's degree in Navigation and Field Robotics from Leibniz Universität Hannover and started her career as a software developer in autonomous vehicles. In recent years, she has moved towards product management and business development, including as Head of Product at Hoopit, project manager at Skalar, and co-founder of YOB. She thus brings valuable experience in customer insights, product strategy, and the development of technology companies from idea to market.
