The founders of Glasir are working to make buildings smarter and greener

The newly established company Glasir Solutions has now been included in Aggrator, and will thus receive support in its work to develop a profitable and resource-saving surface treatment for construction and industry.

Glasir is developing a new type of powder paint that reflects heat radiation, thus reducing heating and cooling requirements much more efficiently than traditional paint products.

The technology has already shown promising results in tests: Surfaces treated with the paint maintain a nearly constant temperature similar to that of the surroundings, which results in significantly lower cooling requirements and reduces energy consumption.

– The solution can be used for everything from cold-chain transport and building facades to roofing. We are currently working on identifying the most profitable applications, says co-founder Nikolai Ersdal

From industrial waste to high technology

A central part of Glasir’s innovation is how they turn industrial waste into specially developed nanoparticles. These particles are used in the powder coating and contribute to better temperature control, longer building life and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

– What if the buildings we travel in tomorrow could be stronger, last longer, and at the same time be greener by utilizing the resources we currently throw away, says co-founder Gerios Farah

Support and further development

Glasir has already received 1.1 million kroner in StudENT funding from Innovation Norway, and is now developing an MVP (minimum viable product). Through the incubation program at Aggrator, the company is receiving assistance in business development.

– We see great potential in the technology of Glasir, especially in markets with high cooling demand where both the climate and health are challenged by heat. This is a solution that can both be cost-effective and help reduce the climate footprint,
says Lars la Cour Poulsen, Aggrator’s contact for the company.
