New addition to Aggrator: Will revolutionize the health check of farmed fish

The start-up company Angenovo AS has now been included in Aggrator’s StartUp program. The company is developing a new method to check the health of farmed fish – directly at the farm and in just 20 minutes.

The method makes it possible to detect diseases without samples having to be sent to central laboratories, and without the need for refrigeration of test kits. Additionally, it is cheaper than traditional laboratory tests. The company is founded by the entrepreneurs Yanwu Guo and Amit Sharma, along with a dedicated team with solid technical expertise and deep insight into the aquaculture industry. Both Yanwu and Amit hold PhDs.

On the way to the market

– The aquaculture industry is currently struggling with infections from viruses such as infectious pancreatic necrosis (IPN) and various bacteria. This leads to poor animal welfare and large financial losses when fish become ill, die, or have to be euthanized. Angenovo’s solution can help to change this, says Yanwu Guo, co-founder and CEO.

Angenovo’s prototype has already shown promising results in early tests compared to traditional methods. Now the company is taking the next step, in collaboration with Aggrator, to develop the business case, attract investors, and conduct larger field trials with customers in the industry.

Angenovo’s solution can help reduce disease-related losses, improve animal welfare, and at the same time cut costs for farmers. This makes the company a valuable addition to the Aggrator portfolio of companies that develop solutions for a cleaner, better world. Lars La Cour Poulsen becomes Angenovo’s main contact at Aggrator.
